Sara Gilbert Won’t Face Her Fears… For Good Reason

We remember Sara Gilbert falling in love with Johnny Galecki in Roseanne, and years later we laughed at their awkward, short-lived romance in The Big Bang Theory, but in real life Sara Gilbert is in a loving relationship with musician Linda Perry.  The two have been married since March.

Last month The Talk, a show co-hosted by Gilbert, held a “Face Your Fears” challenge in which each host was expected to do something they were afraid of.  With her wife and mother in the audience, Gilbert had to respectfully decline her dare of getting a cinder block smashed over her stomach.  As she refused, the actress’ demeanor was serious and almost tearful.  As she began to tell her co-hosts that she would not be facing her fears, she lowered her face and shook, appearing upset enough that co-host Sheryl Underwood even began to embrace her as if to comfort the actress.

“We found out about the dares this week, they announced our dares, and I was scared to do it. I really do believe in facing your fears and doing things that make you uncomfortable,” said Gilbert as she allowed herself a small smile, “but I actually can’t do the dare because I’m pregnant.”

Gilbert’s co-hosts all abandoned their chairs to swarm Gilbert with excited hugs and with a wide smile, she embraced each of them.

Linda Perry tweeted afterward “Thank you everyone for your awesome messages of support. @THEsaragilbert and I are beyond happy. :)”

This will be Gilbert’s third child and second pregnancy, but Perry’s first child.  The 39-year-old actress has a seven-year-old daughter named Sawyer and nine-year-old son named Levi from a former relationship with producer Allison Adler.

Since the announcement on live television last month, Gilbert has not been shy about showing off the baby bump.  Several photos have surfaced of Gilbert looking beautiful with a visible tummy.
